Today i will talk about war on Ukraine. Ukraine despite its size, by that i mean not that big is rich in industrial recources like  coal, iron ore, natural gas, manganese, salt, oil, graphite, sulfur. That might be one of the reasons why Russia attacked our neighbour country. They're that desperate, they even started to fire rockets at cities where innocent civilians are trying to make their living. We're all thinking that the war  started by  Vladimir Putin  was a bad idea, only by looking at how inhuman starting a war is in 2022.    What if I told you that even Russian president started to think about it the same way as we are? Ukraine has started to regain territory,   Including in the Kherson and Kharkiv region. Those are fantastic news not only for residents of Ukraine but for poeple in other countries. We can observe Ukrainian soldiers putting flags in the retaken places which must be bringing hope into poeple hearts.  Another aspect t...
Today i will talk about frogs that adapted to the polluted environment. We all know what happened  in Chernobyl in 1986. The reactor accident released the most radioactive material in human history that completely changed this region of Ukraine. People could no longer live there, apart from animals, that are able to survive there. Another thing we all know is that radiation is dangerous. It is because it can develop undesirable mutations in living organisms. Scientists are trying to detect species that are capable to adapting to the radiation. Melanin wich is responsible for the colours of organism even humans, (hair & eyes) happened to reduce negative effects of radiation. In 2016 the first black frogs were discovered and scientist started to study how melanin helps to live in this region. Their work reveals that tree frogs living all over the chernobyl contamination zone are slighly more or pitch black. Studies suggest that the colour of their skin is a process of evolution ...
I’ve talked about street art in my previous blog. Now I want to say some words about graffiti. I have to say that it is illegal. It’s a bad thing in many countries (if not all of them) and getting cought at painting always forces you to cover the cost. Sometimes it puts you up in jail, mainly in America but still, it’s just a painting. Actually graffiti is not only making big letters and some background. It’s also about tagging. Tags are treated even more as vandalism than making big pieces. They are simply names or slogans written on (if possible) on everything you can. The whole idea of drawing on walls comes from tagging. When I say it comes from it I mean it. First sight of graffiti was when soldiers of world war two painted ‘Kilroy was here’. Then it transformed to commonly seen ‘I love Jane’ and not long after that Into requiring skill pieces of art. It all happened, in America, to be more specific – New York. Most respected and popular places to draw are suburban and lon...
Many things can be counted as street art - murals, stencil paintings, tags, graffiti. Every method has its own characteristics, but even though, they all share the same history and ideology. The culture of painting on walls goes way back. Some murals are even 40 000 years old! One of the most known prehistoric art is called „Lascaux’s Galloping Herds” and was discovered in France in 1940. When talking about murals, you may think about symobls painted on walls during World Wars. Street art often is a form of protesting - against the government, against racism or any form of intolerance. During wars it also is a form of showing solidarity and unity. Nowadays it is important to seperate graffiti and street art. People doing graffiti focus mostly on their groups and others that paint. They don’t care that much about the audience. Street art on the other hand is supposed to attract attention and make people wonder about its topic. https://rynekisztuka.pl/2015/03/25/street-art-poczate...
Street art is a very wide concept, it combines many elements, starting from street art, murals, tags (nicknames painted with a spray or marker) to in general, graffiti. It is often recognized as vandalism because of the daubs which are saying 'i love jola' . Rightly said but in 20% it is pure art. Main requirement for graffiti being art is to paint on buildings that are not someone's property, by that i mean not someone's fence or house so the owner of the thing does not have to cover the costs by his own. People that paint graffiti are called writers. It's because graffiti is all about sharing your nickname as much as you can, so you mainly write (paint) letters. Respectable writers don't paint on people properties or on new buildings. there is another side of this whole thing and it can be described as real art by everybody and it's about painting murals. Murals are painted with permission and people who did the piece get paid for their work. It's v...
